Arturo Márquez Symphony for Band 2026
Arturo Márquez will write his first modern and significant composition for wind ensemble, his Symphony for Band to be premiered by the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble in 2026.
The Mexican Repertoire Initiative is sponsoring an annual consortium to commission an original work for wind band from the three winners of the Arturo Márquez Composition Competition. To fund these commissions, the Mexican Repertoire Initiative at Dartmouth is sponsoring an international consortium with a modest fee of $250. Contributors to the consortium will receive the commissioned works, with performance rights in perpetuity, from the three awarded composers per the terms below.
