Aaron is a musician, teacher and scholar. He graduated with his PhD in music education from the University of Michigan in 2024. His dissertation, Experiences of Music Teachers in Activist Street Bands: Connecting School and Community, explores how community experiences shape music teaching. Aaron has seven years of classroom experience teaching elementary general music and middle school band, orchestra and general music in the Greater Boston Area. Aaron has presented at music education conferences nationally and internationally. His research interests include community music, creative music making in large ensembles, and activist music making. Aaron is responsible for measuring the impact of Hop events and works to bridge local communities in the Upper Valley to the Hop.
