2025/26 Season Letter

Let's make something together!

Our doors are open and the Hop is ready to take its place at the center of the Green and as the gateway to Dartmouth's vibrant Arts District. Now, with expanded spaces, and the Daryl and Steven Roth Wing, we're more than ready to welcome you.

Named in honor of Daryl Roth and Steven Roth '62, Tu'63, whose extraordinary generosity helped bring this vision to life, the Roth Wing is the new heart of the Hop: a vibrant hub where all will gather, create and experience the arts. It features a stunning new recital hall, a versatile performance lab, our first dedicated dance studio and an inviting, accessible plaza. With comfortable, beautiful gathering places, state-of-the-art technology and more flexible spaces than ever before, the Roth Wing brings unimagined capabilities and new levels of connection.

Our inaugural season is designed to demonstrate these expanded possibilities: world premieres from internationally renowned artists, performances rooted in our campus and community, the return of legendary artists alongside bold newcomers. You'll find a showcase for digital art and innovations discovered through arts integration projects, and a recital series with outstanding ensembles and soloists in a spectacular intimate setting. An illusionist, comedy, storytelling and literary arts find a home as well. But the true creative spark comes from you. Your presence, ideas and curiosity will shape what's next.

So come in. Find your seat, your collaborators, your inspiration. This is your Hop, and we can't wait to see what you make happen here.

This next chapter brings our mission into sharper focus: to be a catalyst for creative experiences that deepen our understanding of the world and connect us to one another. We believe in the power of the arts to spark conversation, foster innovation and bring people together across differences. This commitment drives everything we do.

We are deeply grateful for the tremendous generosity along with generations of hands, hearts and minds who brought us to this moment—and to all of you who held space for us during the transformation, and contributed toward the dream of this day as we launch the future of the arts at Dartmouth. Join us and rediscover the Hop.
