Carla Nowak, a dedicated sports and math teacher, starts her first job at a high school. When a series of thefts occur at the school, Carla is annoyed by how quickly others blame a Turkish student and she decides to get to the bottom of the matter on her own. Attempting to mediate between outraged parents, opinionated colleagues and aggressive students, she is relentlessly confronted with the structures of the school system. The more desperately she tries to do everything right, the more the young teacher threatens to break. Even the best of intentions can fray the social fabric.

“A nail-biting thriller in which director İlker Çatak and sensational star Leonie Benesch turn a tale of petty theft at a German middle school into a battle between freedom of expression and institutional control all too easily recognizable as our own.”

ABC News

“Gripping. A tense social parable…terrific.”
