Join dancer, choreographer and mama extraordinaire Ana Maria Alvarez from CONTRA-TIEMPO for her full-body dance class. Designed for caretakers and their kiddos, she'll guide the group in Salsa dance and grooving to build connection and work that radical joy muscle. This class is best for ages 3 and up, and all levels are welcome!

About CONTRA-TIEMPO

CONTRA-TIEMPO is a bold, multilingual dance company based in Los Angeles. Founded and directed by Ana Maria Alvarez in 2005, the company's work is rooted in Salsa and Afro-Cuban dance and draws from Hip-Hop, urban and contemporary dance-theater. Called "the new face of Los Angeles dance" by the Los Angeles Times, the company brings to life voices that are not traditionally heard on the concert stage. CONTRA-TIEMPO's rich tapestry of professional performers, many with immigrant or first generation backgrounds, work directly with the company's dance training programs for youth, pre-professional summer intensives, training arts educators and community engagement in art making. Their repertory has been presented in the United States and Latin America. As a part of DanceMotion USA, CONTRA-TIEMPO members toured to South America as Dance Ambassadors in 2014.
